Some have started to notice Brunatti Storage has a new name, Sound Self Storage. But while the name is fresh, the building and the community spirit behind it are anything but new. In fact, this beloved Parry Sound storage facility has just entered an exciting new chapter under the ownership of a family many locals already know and trust.

Meet the Hinksman Family, the new owners of Sound Self Storage, who officially took the reins in May 2025. If the name rings a bell, it should be! They're also the team behind Soundseals Insulation, a household name in the Parry Sound area for over two decades.

"When the opportunity came up to purchase the former Brunatti Storage facility, we knew it was something special," said the new owners. "This building has been a part of Parry Sound’s history for nearly 90 years, and we’re honoured to carry it forward."

For those unfamiliar with the legacy, the building originally opened in 1939 as G. Brunatti & Sons Ltd., beginning as a shoe repair shop and expanding over time into orthopedic appliances, boat covers, industrial goods, and eventually, self storage in 2006. Now, nearly a century later, the space is stepping confidently into its next phase with upgraded amenities, and a name that reflects its Parry Sound roots.
